About ESBIE > Media Centre August 2009
• Business planning and quality improvement In 2005, ESB Independent Energy was accredited with the “Standard” award and in 2007 progressed to receive the “Gold” level award. Achieving “Platinum” at this stage is the culmination of determined focus and hard work in delivering the continuous improvement needed to achieve the very highest standard. Liam Molloy, Managing Director, ESBIE, and Head of ESBI Emerging Businessees commented, “The ETP standard allows us to benchmark our HR and Training practices against Ireland’s most progressive and successful organisations. It helps to focus our attention on important initiatives and practices that contribute towards employees’ motivation and commitment. Achieving the Platinum standard acknowledges the enthusiasm and dedication that characterises ESBIE staff. I was particularly pleased that the assessor highlighted Communications and Employee Well-being as areas of key strength for ESBIE. This Platinum award recognises the value of our strategy of continuously challenging ourselves to deliver ongoing improvements in the effectiveness of our HR and the training practices and systems. These improvements feed directly into the standard of customer service that we deliver to our customers and the commercial value we deliver to the Group.” For further information please contact: John Conlon
