National Aquatic Centre signs off Electricity deal with ESBIE

The National Aquatic Centre one of Europe’s largest indoor water centres has renewed its €800,000 energy contract with ESB Independent Energy (ESBIE).
The Centre, that attracted over 3 million visitors since it opened its doors in 2003, has just signed a 12 month power deal that will see ESBIE supplying 5GWH of electricity; the equivalent of powering

5,000 homes, to the Centre.
ESBIE provides electricity and energy efficiency services to the industrial and business sectors of the Irish market.
The Centre facilities include a 50 metre pool, diving pool with Olympic diving boards and major leisure water park. It successfully hosted the swimming events of the 2003 Special Olympics World Summer Games and the European short course Championships.
Liam Molloy, Managing Director, ESBIE said, “We are delighted that the National Aquatic Centre has decided to renew its contract with ESBIE and look forward to continuing to provide the Centre with ESBIE’s key account management and energy efficiency support services. Given the increasing level of competition in the market, customer retention is critical for ESBIE as we continue to grow the business through the delivery of tailored energy solutions combined with first class customer service.”
Teifion Williams, General Manager for the National Aquatic Centre said “ESBIE won this contract against stiff opposition. It is the policy of the National Aquatic Centre not only to look for a first class supplier but also to ensure that we get the most competitive pricing possible and best value for money."
