Electronic Billing Information Service Terms And Conditions

We would like to draw your attention to the Terms and Conditions subject to which the service is provided. While all reasonable security precautions have been taken by ESB
Independent Energy, the nature of communication over the Internet is such that ESB Independent Energy cannot guarantee the privacy or confidentiality of any information relating to
the Customer passing over the Internet. In accessing the Electronic Billing Information Service, the Customer accepts that electronic messaging may not be free from interference by
unauthorised persons and may not remain confidential. The use of the service is at the Customer’s sole risk.
Terms and Conditions
1. Terms
1.1 “Customer” means any entity that has a valid electricity Supply Contract with ESBIE.
1.2 “ESBIE” or “The Supplier” means ESB Independent Energy Limited.
1.3 “Password” means the series of letters and numbers assigned to each user by The Supplier in order to access The Service in conjunction with the user’s individual Username.
1.4 “Registered Customer” means any entity that has a valid electricity Supply Contract with ESBIE and has been granted use of The Service by ESBIE.
1.5 “Supply Contract” means a written agreement between The Supplier and the Customer whereby The Supplier will supply electricity to the Customer under the terms of the contract.
1.6 “The Service” means Electronic Billing Information Service
1.7 “Username” means the individual name assigned to each user by The Supplier to access The Service in conjunction with the user’s Password.
2. Conditions
2.1 The Service is available to Registered Customers who have a Supply Contract with ESBIE.
2.2 Customers who wish to avail of The Service must complete a Registration Form available from ESBIE and must be authorised by ESBIE to use The Service.
2.3 It is the Customer’s responsibility to ensure that they have all necessary computing infrastructure to access The Service and upkeep of such equipment is the Customer’s responsibility.
2.4 It is the Customer’s responsibility to ensure that only authorised personnel of the Customer have access to The Service and it is the Customer’s responsibility to inform ESBIE
of any change in access requirements, in particular if an employee has access to The Service and leaves the Customer’s employment.
2.5 While ESBIE will make every effort to ensure the accuracy of billing and consumption information presented on-line, ESBIE takes no responsibility for any errors or omissions in the
data. ESBIE cannot accept any responsibility whatsoever for loss or damage (including direct, indirect or consequential loss, including loss of profit) occasioned or claimed to have
been occasioned, in part or in full, as a consequence of any person acting, or refraining from acting, as a result of a matter contained in this web-site.
2.6 It is the Customer’s responsibility to ensure that the Username assigned by The Supplier and the Password chosen by the Customer remain confidential.
2.7 In all cases where a discrepancy exists between the printed bill issued to the Customer by post and the bill as displayed on-line, the printed bill as issued to the Customer shall prevail.
2.8 ESBIE takes no responsibility for the accuracy of the customer’s meter. All meter data presented is supplied to The Supplier by ESB Meter Registration System Operator in
Republic of Ireland and by NIE Transmission and Distribution in Northern Ireland who have responsibility in this regard.
2.9 The Service may be changed, altered or withdrawn at any time without notice.
2.10 There may be times when The Service is unavailable due to essential maintenance. The Supplier cannot guarantee that The Service will be available at all times.
2.11 The current Terms and Conditions on which The Service is offered are displayed on The Supplier’s web-site at www.esbie.ie.
2.12 The Terms and Conditions for use of The Service shall be governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the Customer resides.
